Superb Comfort and Next-Level Breathability
The first thing that impressed me when we took the “Elevated Skort” out of the package is the nylon-spandex material blend. This fabric is featherlight and incredibly soft, and it has remained so after several trips through the washing machine. We have the “white” design (the skort also comes in sky blue and black), and it hasn’t stained or weakened in any way throughout 4+ months of regular wear.
Essentially, this thing is a cross between a skirt and a pair of shorts—a skirt on the outside, a form-fitting set of yoga shorts on the inside—trimmed with a wide, “slimming” waistband. It’s versatile, practical, and highly breathable, making it a great choice for day hikes, trips to the golf course, and driving range just as much as for breakfasts with friends or nights out.
It looks great, too. My girlfriend was immediately impressed with the sleek, modern aesthetic. This is the kind of understated clothing that highlights you, not the other way around. The design is beautiful and functional—despite the somewhat cumbersome name—with a high-waisted cut that offers both style and full range of motion, and the integrated shorts provide peace of mind so you don’t have to worry about your skirt flying up. The skirt length is standard in the front but slightly longer in the back for added coverage.
Exactly What You Want, No Bells and Whistles
This piece of clothing—and truly, this brand—is one of those items that’s honestly hard to review because it does what it sets out to do without unnecessary flash or over-the-top features.
There are deftly integrated side and rear slip pockets that are essentially invisible unless you’re using them, but nothing else gets in the way of what this skort is supposed to be: comfortable, stylish apparel that performs as well as it looks. No bulky pockets or zippers or buttons or anything else.
Beldrie is one of those brands that clearly knows what they do well and sticks to it, which I always like to see. They have the skorts, two designs of top, and a quarterzip. That’s it. No half-assed accessory items that waste money and time and detract from their core products.
The items have almost unanimous rave reviews and are, of course, frequently sold out. I’m envious they don’t make clothing for men.
